I'm in London a few times a year. Recently, I've been very happy with the Grange Holborn. Unfortunately, it was booked on my dates, so I opted to stay at another of your properties. The staff was first rate, but the facilities were very inconsistent. If the Holborn is booked up again I would choose one of the nearby Hilton's instead.

The most awful night in a hotel. Room 13 should be avoided. Huge and very noisy air conditioning unit outside of the room. Perhaps 1 hour sleep. Made worse by being below walkway above the room. This room should not be used as a bedroom.

A very pleasant atmosphere in the hotel. Staff friendly. I suggest 2 pillows on single bed rather than 1. Water and chocolate nice touches.

The a/c was fierce and caused a cold draft even when set to increase temperature. The Wi-fi was the fastest I have ever experienced in a hotel - well done. Breakfast was problematic. I was seated at a table for two, removed my napkins from the centre and went to get some cornflakes. When I turned around to go back to my table, one of the staff had put a table together with mine and was seating 4 other people. I had to be given another table and there was no apology. I asked about porridge - commonly available in most hotels and was told it would be over £5 for a plate. That’s an outrageous price for porridge and I declined. Also, despite being booked in for a full English breakfast, nobody came to take my order and I had to stop a member of staff and my room number had to be checked again before I could place my order. Although I specified no hash brown, it came with a hash brown. My breakfast experience was not what I expected and service had declined since my last stay.

Room was in the basement of the hotel - therefore only view was people walking past above you. For £217 a night you did not even get a single bottle of complimentary water and no iron or ironing board. Also the shower temperature control was turned back to maximum temperature after I had spent some time getting the temperature at a non scolding level. Towels were poor quality as were the pillows and bed linen. All in all very poor value for money - just a shame we have a corporate account and our travel company insists on using you.
