| New Year’s Day Parade
London’s New Year’s Day Parade returns for its 31st year in 2017!. This year’s theme titled, Lights, Camera, Action, will feature thousands of performers and colourful floats from across the world. Watch the parade for free along the central London route which starts at Green Park Tube station from 12pm, ending in Parliament Square at 3.30pm.

|Winter Lights at Canary Wharf
This month Canary Wharf's towers will be glowing even more than usual thanks to the addition of a number of installations from international artists as part of Winter Lights. Expect to see 30 dazzling artworks, installations and interactive experiences, with many on show in the UK for the first time. Highlights include a live graffiti weekend with work crafted from light and 'Angels of Freedom' which will allow visitors to transform into angels using photography and social media. The annual London Art Fair brings together more than 125 galleries in one venue, showcasing museum-quality artwork and pieces. Be inspired by works from the early 20th century to the present day. |Magical Lantern Festival
The Magical Lantern Festival returns to Chiswick House and Gardens until 26th February 2017 with this year’s theme, the ancient Silk Road. Follow the trail of light installations and handmade lanterns as you retrace the ancient trade routes linking China to Europe. Expect to see illuminated sphinx, camels and a life-size replica of the Colosseum – the ship that Chinese Admiral Zheng used on his explorations – then skate at the 600 square-metre ice rink or answer the Chinese riddles at the Bamboo lanterns. |Chinese New Year 2017
Celebrate the Year of the Rooster in London’s West End for the biggest Chinese New Year celebrations outside of Asia. Kicking off with a vibrant Chinese parade in the streets of the West End, followed by stage performances and a grand fireworks display in Trafalgar Square. There will be plenty to see and do in China Town, Shaftesbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road too.
