Grange Hotels is delighted to be partnering with a spectacular new event for January 2016, as leading creative company, Artichoke, prepare to brighten up the capital with Lumiere London.
As the city’s first major light festival, which takes place over four evenings from 14-17th January 16, the event will see more than 20 international artists transform London’s buildings and streets with illuminating installations, from King’s Cross to the West End.
The impressive artworks are designed to banish those winter blues; lighting up London for all to see and reinforcing the city’s status as a cultural destination. Areas set to sparkle include landmark locations such as Leicester Square, St James’s, Carnaby Street and Oxford Circus.
Helen Marriage, Artichoke Director and Curator of Lumiere London comments: “Lumiere London promises to be an extraordinary event that showcases artists from across the globe working with many forms of light to transform our public spaces. This event shows how this great world city can turn itself into a huge public gallery, a pedestrian playground free temporarily from traffic and accessible to all”.
Visitors to London this December can enjoy a sneak preview of the event with Let it Snow; an installation of 365 wooden sledges made by lighting studio Creatmosphere (UK) in collaboration with Hello Wood.
