On Tuesday 17th March, Grange Hotels and isportconnect hosted the first London Director’s Club with some impressive panel speakers including Alistair Kirkwood, Managing Director of NFL UK, and Brett Gosper, World Rugby CEO.
The evening started with introductions from isportconnect’s Chairman, Michael Cunnah, and Grange Hotels’ Partnerships Manager, Claire Farrington, who spoke of how sporting values such as ‘respect, persistence and self-discipline’ were resonant in the world of business. Michael emphasised the importance of venue partners: “Good venues are extremely important to having successful events, we are very pleased to say that we are at Grange Hotels again".
Alistair Kirkwood and Brett Gosper were joined by Nick Read, Commercial Director for Vitality (a leading private medical insurer); Steve Parish, Chairman of Crystal Palace; Niall Sloane, Director of Sport at ITV and Paul Fisher, Group Manager Director of The Jockey Club Group. The event attracted its biggest ever audience with senior delegates from major sports teams, clubs, federations, governing bodies and brands all attending what was a hugely popular event.
After the Directors’ Club Question Time and the Networking Reception, guests headed upstairs to the spectacular glass atrium where a 3-course dinner was served on the mezzanine level. The dinner speech was deftly delivered by Clipper enthusiast and rugby union footballer, Ollie Phillips.
