iSportconnect Directors' Club London

And Back Home For... London’s most-attended iSportconnect Directors’ Club at Grange St. Paul’s

25 March 2015

On Tuesday 17th March, Grange Hotels and isportconnect hosted the first London Director’s Club with some impressive panel speakers including Alistair Kirkwood, Managing Director of NFL UK, and Brett Gosper, World Rugby CEO.

The evening started with introductions from isportconnect’s Chairman, Michael Cunnah, and Grange Hotels’ Partnerships Manager, Claire Farrington, who spoke of how sporting values such as ‘respect, persistence and self-discipline’ were resonant in the world of business. Michael emphasised the importance of venue partners: “Good venues are extremely important to having successful events, we are very pleased to say that we are at Grange Hotels again".

Alistair Kirkwood and Brett Gosper were joined by Nick Read, Commercial Director for Vitality (a leading private medical insurer); Steve Parish, Chairman of Crystal Palace; Niall Sloane, Director of Sport at ITV and Paul Fisher, Group Manager Director of The Jockey Club Group. The event attracted its biggest ever audience with senior delegates from major sports teams, clubs, federations, governing bodies and brands all attending what was a hugely popular event.

After the Directors’ Club Question Time and the Networking Reception, guests headed upstairs to the spectacular glass atrium where a 3-course dinner was served on the mezzanine level. The dinner speech was deftly delivered by Clipper enthusiast and rugby union footballer, Ollie Phillips.

Sree Varma, isportconnect’s CEO stated: "We at isportconnect are delighted to have a partnership with Grange Hotels. Having now staged two Directors' Club events at their flagship St. Paul's hotel, we have seen first-hand what a forward-thinking and dynamic group they are. Grange have long had an association with the sport industry and their extensive knowledge of the industry supports our needs and demonstrates their standing as London's leading independent hotels."

The next hosted event for isportconnect is the Digital Media & Technology Masterclass, again at Grange St. Paul’s on April 15th. The hotel is renowned for its links and connections to the sporting industry being the Paralympic headquarters in 2012 and home to the Sri Lankan cricket team when they are playing in the UK. A new addition – the City Sports Bar – continuously plays current matches on the multiple screens and is available for private hire, perfect for sport networking events.
