Existing as a large waste of land for so many years, the Earls Court was sold in 1935 given the opportunity to become one of the greatest entertainment centres aiming to create Europe's largest structure by volume. Completed much later than previously schedualed, the building spent way over it's budget to be ready for opening on the 1st of September 1937 for the chocolate and confectionery exhibition. Due to the need of more exhibition space, Earls Court Two was constructed at a cost of £100m. The hall was opened by Diana, Princess of Wales on the 17th October 1991 for the Motorfair Show.
