Founded in 1694, The Bank of England Museum represents the United Kingdom's central bank. The Bank is aming for monetary and financial stability. The Bank is recognised to the general public through its banknotes and, more recently, its interest rate decisions. Eversince the early 20th century The Bank of England has been the one issuing the banknotes in England and Wales. However it has been only since 1997 that the Bank has had statutory responsibility for setting the UK's official interest rate.
