Thank you once more. I arrived at the Lancaster extremely late (almost midnight) and feeling really tired (after a horrendous journey) but it was lovely to reach my 'home from home'. It means so much not to have to concern about where I am staying. I was in the delightful room 2 and was as happy as could be. Thank you again. I appreciate it so much. Warmest wishes Muriel x

Terrible night !! Room extreemly noisy

I was unfortunate to be placed in a front room, Room was EXTREEMLY noisy, Windows didn't fit properly and rattled whenever the wind blew. Basically had a terrible night with being constantly being woken up with street noise, traffic and people. If the company had not already have paid the Bill I would have refused to pay and let you challenge me in court. Unless a rear room can be guaranteed in future I WILL not be going through that again, pity because the Hotel is nice and the staff excellent. J

Underwhelmed

The room was poky and the base of the bed decrepit.

Good facilities and room at a good price, ideal business room

The information viewed on our company's Click Travel for your room should be clear to state that I only had a continental breakfast. The room was advertised as bed and breakfast but only until the morning did I realise it was continental, not full English.

It was OK

I had a basement room facing the street and I found it noisy. If I stay at your hotel again, I would ask for a different room.

lovely hotel,unfortunate room.

unfortunately,after a disturbed nights sleep i discovered that the room i stayed in was directly underneath reception and i was kept awake and woken early by footsteps above me.I shall ask for a quiet room in future!

Grange Lancaster is my first choice when in London

Spacious and well equipped rooms located ideally for a city trip with a typically British flair.

Handy for British Museum and Congress Centre

Excellent position and nice old rooms. Shared toilet but shower in the room. A firm bed but hum of fans slightly annoying. Nice toiletries.

Great location. Mixed experience.

On arrival the staff member on reception, (Matia?) was very pleasant. The room was spacious. Shared toilet, as expected. I live in London, but booked this room to save on journey times and get more sleep between work assignments. Unfortunately, the guests in the adjoining room were talking and laughing loudly and I was unable to sleep. Initially I tried to ignore them, but by 23.30hrs, had had enough and called reception, to ask if anything could be done. The gentleman I spoke to said he would have a word with the other guests. I duly waited, then called reception a second time, and asked about the possibility of moving to another room. I was told the hotel was full, and a change of room would necessitate a change of hotel. The gentleman said he would have another word with the guests and phone me back. He did phone back some 15-20mins later. The other guests were talking a little less loudly, and so I tried once more to ignore them and get to sleep. However, I could still hear them talking and they soon began laughing loudly again, so I phoned reception a third time at 00.40hrs. A different gentleman answered the phone, as the first one was on his break. I asked him to find me another room elsewhere. He said he would call around Grange's sister hotels. A few minutes later, he knocked on my door, and apologised for the behaviour of the other guests. He was able to offer me a choice of two bedrooms in the Lancaster Grange Hotel, where I was staying, on the same floor I was on. I was very grateful. I desperately needed to sleep. What annoys me as much as the inconsiderate behaviour of the guests in the adjoining room, was the feeling of having been deceived by the first man who took my call, who had told me the hotel was full, when it obviously wasn't. I could have had more sleep if I had been offered another bedroom at an earlier stage. 5 stars for the gentleman who offered me alternative room, no stars for the man who told me the hotel was full. Re: facilities, I appreciate the kettle and tea bags etc. I booked a room with shared WC to keep the cost down. The room was spacious, especially for London, and clean. Re: value, had I slept well, from the start, I would have rated it good value. I did not try the food. I don't know if I would use this hotel again. It might depend on the response I get from this review.

Professional desk staff, terrible breakfast

The desk staff were very friendly, these people know their trade, the rooms deserve a thorough refurbishment, something cleaner can certainly not hurt. But breakfast ... on day two we have eaten elsewhere, not fresh, not tasty, sour, ... bored room staff. Fortunately, you have good people at the counter.

Our journey was good. Only once remarque the bath was to hight and bit dangerous and difficult to go out.

Great value for price, perfectly located

It was really a great pleasure to stay here. Staff was always very friendly and attentive. Hotel is perfectly located near two tube stations and several bus stations. You can easily walk to Covent Garden etc. Room was very spacious refer to other Hotels in London. Shared Toilette was no problem at all. Would definitely choose this Hotel for next stay!

Mon 22nd January. Thank you so much. I had a lovely night with you and I was in room 2 which was even more special. As always everuything was perfect. Thank you. Wed 7th February. Another great stay. Thank you so much!! NB. I was to have stayed with you on the night of 1st February but on that morning a centre phoned to cancel. I was extremely sorry to have to phone you at such late notice and the company would have paid for the cancellation. It was extremely generous of you to accept another booking in place of the one I had made and not charge cancellation fees. (If you did charge, there is no problem but I just wanted to apologise!) Thank you, as always, for everything. Ideal hotel - and more. More like home from home! That is the ultimate compliment as I love my home. Best wishes Muriel x
