Stay at White Hall

The room wasnt cleaned properlly, there were a lot of dust on the walls and really easy to see. Why should I bodder to check-in through the internet in advance when I have to do it again upon arrival? The staff in the reception was more or less unfriendly, I expect receptionstaff to see people that enter the hotell, they dont have to talk to everyone but they can smile and make you feel welcome to the hotell. The only exception was the staff on the day of our outchecking

We had booked The Blooms sister hotel located next door as the guest rating were higher. On arrival we were slightly disappointed to find we had been transferred th The White Hall. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a four poster room which was very good overlooking the street. The room was a good size and comfortable. However the climb into the over the bath shower was a little precarious with no hand rails and could be dangerous climbing out of a wet bath with nothing to hold on to. There is no mini bar or fridge. The room was not cleaned during our two night stay. I have no objection to making our own bed, washing our cups or reusing towels but with no cleaning products for the toilet, sink and bathroom it is verging on unhygienic. We had to ring reception for tea and milk after a long day sight seeing as the room was not serviced. I also think the stairs and area leading downstairs to the toilets are need of a good hoover and clean. It does not give a good impression to visitors. However, the staff were helpful, the breakfast was excellent and the positives certainty outweigh the negatives. Perfect location, steps away from the British Museum, close to the pretty Russell Square and underground. We will definitely consider staying again.

Not my favourite of stays but was suitable for 2 nights.

I stayed in this hotel with my partner and we had an okay stay. This hotel was nice the interior of the room was lovely we stayed in room 012 it was very warm until we turned the radiators down we where in the basement. The basement isn't the quietest of places however the bed was comfortable. I was disappointed with the food as the restaurant for evening was closed on both nights when It was suppose to be open. We tried room service but no one answered. On the first night we went to book a taxi at reception to go to the lycuem theatre we where told it was booked so we waited. Then we found out no booking was made so a member of staff kindly tried to flag down a taxi but we didnt have much time so we decided to go by tube. We had to rush to the tube station to get to Covent garden. Lucky we made it in time just about but we wasn't very happy with the service. They nearly cost us missing the lion king show. The breakfast was okay they didn't have many options for cereal but the restaurant was lovely presented with a flower on the table. The restaurant isn't very big for the size of the hotel. The staff where lovely and very kind. We went to reception to ask for water and it was delivered by the time we got back free of charge. The second night I had to go to reception again to ask as no one picked up on room service number. I rang the reception number and was told someone would get back to me but they didn't so I had to go to reception. I was in the lift with a staff member and he saw me with the empty jug and kindly offered to filled it up and he brought back to our room so I didn't need to go to reception after all. This I was very greatful for as I was in my PJ's very late at night. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again but one of there sister hotels I would give a try. This hotel is okay if you want a short break to London and are stopping for a couple of days. It is very convenient location and is close to Russel square tube station. I did enjoy my time in London I do want to thank the staff for there hospitality and kindness. They where lovely and very polite people. We didn't use the spa, meeting or events rooms or health club so I am unable to comment. Me and my boyfriend did have a lovely time overall in London. I would say it is on the pricer side for a 4 star hotel due to the restaurant not being open, room service not working and the organisation of taxis. I would say this is more like a 3 star with some elements of a 4 star.

Downhill since my last stay

Initially we were told there was a problem with the booking and my sons would have to stay in another hotel! This was sorted out as my sons have learning disabilities and had to be near us. In the evening there was a large group in the bar which took up all the seats, we had to sit in the foyer. This would have been ok, but had to wait ages for someone to come to serve us drinks at the bar, and when we were served the staff member tried to charge my husband for four brandies, when he had only asked for a double - but the staff member argued with my husband and insisted that he had asked for four brandies. Very bad customer service. Breakfast had run out of eggs, mushrooms and orange juice and we weren't offered toast.

THE STAFF WERE ABSOLUTELY LOVELY X AT breakfast i asked for a latte- I was told i would have to go to reception myself and order one ! at 11am i asked for room service - a latte, 2 glasses (non in the room) an iron and scissors - an hour later nothing had arrived i phoned again and put in the order again the drink and scissors and glasses arrived 30 mins later... but no iron and ironing board - nothing arrived .. i gave up in the end ! for the fees you charge - i feel you need to update your potentially stunning boutique hotel in small but very significant areas!

Birthday Celebration Break

Great welcome from Ryan and Rhaol (?). Our rooms were close together, and quiet as we had requested. We were informed that because we were celebrating a very special birthday we had been upgraded, many thanks. We felt breakfast was a little overpriced (£11 cooked breakfast in Cote) so didn’t sample the food.

Room very comfortable apart from the mattress which was a little hard. It would be better to serve tea and coffee in pots at breakfast time so that guests are not having to get up and down to replenish their cups so frequently

Not the service and quality I expected

I was very disappointed with my stay at Grange Whitehall. I have had some positive stays in other granges before so I felt confident booking whitehall. Wish I had book another hotel chain this time. I was put up in a small room with a rubbish pulldown bed that was at floor level. I complained with the manager and he did agree with me that this was rediculous in a 4* hotel. He completely diverted the issue away from himself that he agreed but it was not his decision blah blah. It annoys me when this happens in case of a complaint. He, at that point, represents the hotel and he should take charge of it. He said he had to book me at a sister hotel. After insisting this wasnt going to happen since all my colleagues were in this hotel. He suddenly did find a free room? Why on earth did he not see this the first time he looked? This makes me not trust the situation. Next day at breakfast the staff were very unfriendly. A simple smile doesnt cost much you know?! They said my colleague didnt have breakfast included. After showing them the reservation form where it clearly stated it was included, they still wouldnt let him have it. We left for the day and came back at around 17:00. I walk in, the receptionist looks at me, looks away and doesnt even acknowledge us coming into their premises. After saying an axeggerated HELLO to them, the smiled and said hello back. Right, I honestly dont like complaining to much and never really write emails like this. I am an entrepreneur and understand that sometimes things dont always go as planned. In this occassion though, I really feel I was given bad customer service. This is a 4* hotel and I expect more than the service I received. This experience definitely makes me reconsider my next hotel when I am in London next.
