Thank you for the complimentary upgrade for my daughters 21st, room was lovely and quiet overlooking the back garden. The male receptionist on the phone fri 26th was very helpful ! However on arrival and checkout the male reception staff was unfriendly and dismissive , which was very disappointing ! Reception staff require training on good customer service ? The breakfast was very poor , service , food ran out , no vegetarian options even though requested this on booking. Disappointing experience , especially when this was supposed to be a surprise celebration for my daughters 21st

overall a great hotel but we stayed 7 nights and bought water for the night and to take the next day, unfortunately there was no fridge in the room so went warm, it was 26 degrees every day so needed cold water. also breakfast was overpriced and not that nice

Unfortunately, we must have stayed here on the hottest day of the year, there is no air conditioning in the rooms and we had a south facing room, the night was unbearable until we found a fan. Our group had 4 twin rooms, we all paid the same price but ours was half the size of our friends! Breakfast was a little disappointing, and we had to ask 5 times for some toast, everyone was served around us! You had to wait for a bar attendant to be called to serve you a drink, we nicknamed the hotel "Fawlty Towers"! Rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean and good size, right next door to the British Museum and walkable to Holborn and Russell Square Stations

During my two short stays, I felt very comfortable in the room itself! Nevertheless, two things bothered me a bit: - a noise during the day (from a machine somewhere outside which switched on and off?) - a concierge who apparently felt the instant need to show me that he can count to ten in German! This is not what you want to hear upon arrival! I cannot judge Meetings & Events, Spa and Health Club as I did not use these facilities.

Room 103 was lovely but the bathroom was a little tired. Even though I emailed ahead (which I didn't get a reply to) explaining that because of a medical condition I have to be dairy and gluten free, and spoke to the receptionist on the desk on arrival, (who said this would be passed on) I still had to explain on entering the dining room where it was very busy. There was no lactose free milk available. I did ask for gluten free toast which they did bring but no gluten free cereals as an option. For the price we paid it was good value as it is an excellent location. However, it was discounted and I don't think I would pay the usual price.

Hotel going downhill , no ice in whole hotel. Breakfast was awful, no croissants left, cold toast, looked like leftovers!

The room was unbearably hot. London temperatures were high during my stay but it was so uncomfortable that I would have looked for an alternative hotel if I had not arrived very late in the evening. Air-conditioning is a must in hotels and sadly lacking here. Thanks to the hotel staff who searched and searched to find me an electric fan and came up trumps about an hour after I requested it.
