Central, but needs work.

A good comfortable hotel, but kitchen was not available and breakfast had to be in the adjacent sister hotel,once there the quality of breakfast was not great., Room was small but adequate but sorely needed aircon in warm summer weather as the outside road is very noisy all through the night with the windows open. Not impressive for a premium room in London, not sure I would return.

Another comfortable stay in another Grange hotel

I have stayed at a number of Grange hotels over the years and generally find them to be a nice size and comfortable. some of the rooms are beginning to look a little tired but they are always clean and a pleasant stay for one or two night stays.

Myself and my wife had stayed recently at the blooms in January and enjoyed our stay and rebooked our recent visit for that reason, however this recent stay was not of the standard we receive last visit our room door was faulty for our entire visit our key card not working ! The breakfast was not as good with some item not available. Although we love the location we will be looking at other options for our next visit

Half pleasure

I came on the 27th July. I like the style of the hotel, so British, and charming and very Well position in London behind British museum. People were nice and Kind for clients ( giving bottle if water, Calling a cab...) The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunatly, it was very very hot at 3rd flood and no possibility of making circulate some fresh air from outside (despite roof ventilator)

I was stranded in London for the night after my train had been cancelled and my husband discovered this hotel through Booking.com-what a great find! It was close to Kings Cross and a lovely spot to rest for the evening. I loved the garden just outside my room. Will definitely look to go back during one of our longer stays!

Disingenuous booking system

Visit spoilt by being bumped to adjacent hotel. Grange Hotels take bookings they can't honour. The buildings and accommodation are tired and lack investment.

Room "normal", no AC, worst breakfast ever

Room normal, very hot at our arrival. No AC, despite 4 stars. Worst breakfast ever, almost nothing to eat at 9am, and what remaind was not fresh food.

We were told on arrival we had been moved to next door hotel. We liked the room but there was trouble with the entry system. However the staff worked very hard over several hours to get it working. There was only one hand towel instead of two. We enjoyed our stay as the staff were really helpful. We also enjoyed relaxing in the lovely peaceful garden. We had the full english which was good, although a buffet the food was hot and freshly cooked. Tea and coffee were out of flasks instead of freshly made. If you want to visit the british museum this is the place to stay as it is next door!

Never been to a hotel like it

I have to be honest and say have never been to this hotel before, the room was clean but the ceiling fan squeaked all night as I could not open a window. I also had to put an extra fan on that was in the cupboard, the main plug socket fell to bits when I used it which made me laugh. I couldn't find the food list, had to pull the sheet out and I couldn't read it properly as it was well faded and the food they said they did which was the burger and chips was not even listed. The concierge was nice and seemed very kind, only complaint about the food is they added mayo to my burger when I did not ask for it and had to scrape it out. The furniture seemed very old and dated. All in all if that's a 4 star I would be afraid to go to a 3 star hotel. Very poor. Have to say had better food from a Travelodge for a lot cheaper.

Lack of plug sockets!

I’ve stayed quite a few times before at Grange Hotels and have always been impressed by the standard and cleanliness of the rooms and thought it good value for money. This time I was not impressed! We were given a very dark, dingy airless room on the ground floor next to the road. I decided to plug in the fan that was left in the room - but I then discovered that there was only one available plug socket in the room! I already needed to plug in my phone charger and my hair dryer once I’d washed my hair! Upon exploring I found another 3 plug sockets behind a cupboard, but these already had the television, WiFi and a lamp plugged in. This problem was eventually sorted by being lent an extension cable, but in this day and age having one available plug socket is not acceptable. The bathroom we had given urgently needed maintenance - the handles on the bath wore very loose and dangerous. As I have a balance problem it was a bit scary getting out of the bath. I was pleased to see a bath mat I could use. The table that the fan was eventually put on was on its last legs and very wobbly. There was also noticed dust on top of the cupboard.

Room was a little noisy and needed a review - window cover broken on one side; bottom of bed frayed. Overall, room OK but noise transference between rooms was worse than I normally experience - upgrade of extractor fans and review of plumbing could assist here.

Knowing it was only one night!

I was very disappointed with my experience. My bed was uncomfortable my room had a dirty damp patch in the corner and similar in the bathroom. There was no aircon and on a hot evening I wasn't going to risk opening the patio style doors of my room on the ground floor in the centre of London for security. If my work had paid £35 the standard would have been acceptable but not for over £200. The staff on reception when I left were very pleasant though so hence 2 stars overall not 1.

Slightly dated but pleasant stay

Good experience overall, left our bags early before check in, check in process was smooth. The room was a little dated but overall clean, there was no air con and the ceiling fan was a little noisy so couldn't have this on overnight but apart from that, we probably got value for money.
