London hotels guests looking forward to a night at the theatre this March can see acclaimed actress Felicity Kendal in a new production of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs Warren's Profession.
Written in 1894, this witty take on the contradictions of Victorian society was considered so provocative that it was banned from performance until the 1920s.
Shaw himself described it as his best play, adding he had "some nerve" to even pen it.
It tells the story of Mrs Warren and her prim young daughter Vivie, who slowly comes to realise that the comfortable upbringing, Cambridge education and generous allowance that have propelled her towards a career in law may have been financed by a much older profession.
Felicity Kendal's long list of acting credits include leading roles in TV institutions like The Good Life and The Camomile Lawn, as well as stage hits including The Vortexn and The Last Cigarette.
Mrs Warren's Profession opens at the Comedy Theatre in Soho on March 16th.
Nearby hotels include the Grange
Fitzrovia Hotel and the Grange
White Hall Hotel.
