For two months every year, Buckingham Palace opens its doors to the public, giving visitors a golden opportunity to have a look inside one of London's most well-known buildings. Open for viewing are the Palace's 19 State Rooms, usually used for official and State entertaining by the Royal Family themselves. The State Rooms are also home to various treasures from the Royal Collection, including sculptures and paintings by celebrated artists, priceless porcelain pieces, and remarkable English and French furniture. In addition to the State Rooms tour is a chance to view a special exhibition that is held in the Ball Supper Room. In tribute to the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the exhibition will be showcasing Princess Elizabeth’s magnificent wedding dress and 4.5m (15 feet) tulle veil by Norman Hartnell, as well as the jewellery worn by the Princess on the day or presented to her on her marriage day.
